You are not financially helpless when you file for divorce
Some people considering filing for divorce are very concerned about their short-term financial future. They may worry they will not have any money to live on during the divorce case since they might not be employed and might have nowhere to live except the family home. You may be entitled to much more than you think, though. You own a part of everything you think of as "belonging" to your spouse. You spouse will likely be ordered to support you financially through the divorce using the marriage's funds. Consult a divorce attorney and you may find you will not be a helpless as you fear.
