Getting Ex-Spouse's Name Off the Mortgage

If you bought out your ex-spouse's interest in your home as part of a divorce agreement, you are probably required to get your ex-spouse's name off the home mortgage by a certain deadline. This is a serious requirement, and if you cannot refinance to a mortgage in your name only, you may need to sell the house in order to get rid of your ex-spouse's mortgage liability.
